Gators Win in Mississippi

It’s been three years since the Gators won a game in Mississippi, and in what turned out to be UF’s first real challenge, Quaterback Tim Tebow led the Gators to a win to take the Gators to 4-0.

Tim Tebow set a school record for quarterbacks with 166 yards rushing and accounted for four touchdowns Saturday to lead the third-ranked Gators to a difficult 30-24 win at Mississippi.

Despite Tebow’s big numbers, it took a late Tony Joiner interception and a pair of time-consuming drives to put the pesky Rebels away in the defending national champions’ first challenge of the season.

Looks like that while the ‘Coaches’ poll still has Florida at #3 nationally, the AP poll has UF at #4 and Oklahoma at #3.

It’s times like these when I appreciate the BCS system of factoring in the ’strength of schedule’ into the ranking system. While the Sooners have definitely blown away the teams they’ve played - they’ve yet to face any REAL competition, and in their entire season, they only face TWO ranked teams. 50% of the Gator’s schedule is against top 25 ranked teams!

Anyone else ready for a NCAA College Football playoff system? I am.
