Here’s to planning ahead

Erica and I are taking a tour on Monday of the hospital where she will give birth, I think it will take us about 20 minutes to get there… you better believe I’m not going to let this happen to me…

A police officer made a traffic stop Thursday and ended up delivering the baby for the new parents who were speeding to the hospital.

Spring Hill Officer Andrew Peterson pulled over the couple on U.S. 169 in eastern Kansas, police said. The father, David Grate, got of the car and told Peterson that his wife was giving birth.

The officer then helped the new mother, Charlotte, with the birth of the baby boy, Matthew.

Peterson wrapped the newborn in his jacket until paramedics from the South Johnson County Fire Department arrived to take the family to a nearby hospital.

Tire This photo is of our ‘new’ used tire that I bought yesterday after we got a flat on the way to Erica’s regular doctor appointment. In the drama, we discovered that our spare is ‘bent’ and doesn’t do well at speeds over 25 mph! (I was told it would do better if on the back.) We also discovered that the lug wrench in our car does not fit the lug nuts on our car!

So, before it’s too late, I need to get a new rim for our spare, and a new lug wrench that is actually usable on our car. I REALLY don’t want to have a flat tire delay our TRIP. After all, this is our third child, but the first time I’ve been the one driving on the way to the hospital! (We’ve always used taxis in Hong Kong!)
