[...] As many of you already know, Asians possess the valuable skill of ’squatting.’ You may be thinking, “I can squat too, and I’m not Asian!” But, there is a big difference between the “Asian Squat” and the “Western Squat.” [...]

Ellen, yes, I realize this. I normally live in Mainland China - where the squat is used - and where I became aquatinted with it.

I kinda wish I could do the squat, there is such a lack of places to sit around China, being able to squat comfortably would be advantageous. My kids can do it, hopefully they will not lose the ability.

ha ha. After spending some times in Hong Kong, i hope you have known already that the squat thing is a habbit only for the people from MainLand China! :) And, Hong Kong is being flooded with many tourists and immigrants from Mainland China!

The video is fun to watch but I feel embarassed at the same time :) I probably will show this video on my "hong kong" blog , will post your link there too.

I must admit, both my husband and I tried to compare the American and the Asian squat. We had the American one down pretty good, though, predictably, wore ourselves out quickly. The Asian squat was a different thing all together. I'll use my almost ready to give birth pregnant belly as an excuse for not being able to balance... not sure what excuse Bruce will use. He couldn't do it either. Must take a lot of practice!
