Again…

We took Elizabeth to the doctor last night, looks like she’s sick - again…

Elizabeth Joy

She had many of the symptoms for the flu, but the tests came back negative, according to the doctor, she just has an ear infection.

We are afraid Anna is a few days behind Elizabeth as she is showing some of the same symptoms that Elizabeth did a few days ago.  However, she does not have a fever yet.

We would appreciate your prayers right now.  Thanks

Hershey Got The Message

Icebreakers or Cocaine?Back in December, I wrote about a new product by Hershey that I thought was ill-advised, I even wrote a letter to the Hershey Company (receiving a form letter response that dismissed my point of view.)

It seems now that Hershey has had a change of heart after an outcry from law enforcement agencies as well as concerned consumers.

HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) — The Hershey Co. is halting production of Ice Breakers Pacs in response to criticism that the mints look too much like illegal street drugs, the company’s president and chief executive officer said Thursday.

I’m happy that Hershey is discontinuing this product.  (They are not removing it from stores, they are simply not going to produce any more after current stock sells out.)  However, it does bother me how my early concerns were dismissed and that a product like this would make it to production in the first place.

“Nothing Venture, Nothing Win.”

Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to summit Mount Everest, died Friday. He was 88.

Edmund Hillary / Tenzing Norgay

The gangling New Zealander took his fame in stride, preferring to be called “Ed” and considering himself an “ordinary person with ordinary qualities.”

I am impressed and inspired by ordinary people who have a dream to accomplish something extraordinary, and the ability to turn that dream into a reality.

Happy New Year!

Not exactly ‘party central’ around here, but we did have a fun cookout and then some fireworks earlier.

Happy New Year everyone!
