My absolute favorite city in the world. (Of course, I’ve never ‘lived’ here, I’ve only visited.)
BTW, for my horse lover readers – the equestrian events of the 2008 summer olympics are being held here starting this weekend.

Great Hong Kong pictures! Dad
One step closer to us.. Come on down!
We can’t go anywhere, our passports are somewhere between here and Texas!
What is it about Hong Kong that makes it your favorite?
Mostly, it’s probably because HK represents a brief opportunity for all those ‘things’ that we normally do without (Western Food, Entertainment in English, Technology & Camera stores!)
I also love the pace (it’s fast) and I like how it’s an ‘up late’ culture (everything is open late and then doesn’t open in the morning until a sleepy 9,10, sometimes 11am!
It’s also an extremely photogenic city. When I have time to go out, there is always something worth photographing.
There are more reasons, this is just a short list!
Steve
I have been watching the opening ceremonies on tv and all I can say is WOW.
IT is spectacular. The Chinese certainly do have talent and they are so earnest and so many of them. I think this will be the best opening ceremonies for the Olympics thus far. Of course it makes it more interesting because I know you are near by. It is too bad it is so smoggy right now – but inside the Olympic stadium it is gorgeous. The children just sang – they are so cute. Way to go China – so far you have done an awesome job.
Hi Steve, I love your work. We have 2 things in common. 1 Photography 2 Hong Kong. I live in Ireland and do business in Hong Kong. Did you get to the Buddist Monestry? Great photo opportunities.
