The production for Survivor China will be based in Jiangxi Province on Lake Poyang, due east from where we live in Hunan Province on the Dongting Lake (China’s second largest lake.)
Lake Poyang, the largest freshwater lake in China, is 105 miles long from north to south. The widest point is 46 miles, the average width of the lake is 10 miles from west to east. The lakeshore is 750 miles long, and has a surface area of 2040 miles.
This, is China. Where the modern world meshes with 5,000 years of colorful history. This is the first time a major American television program will shoot an entire series on location, in the heart of China.
The adventures will play out in the shadows of a sacred mountain on the shores of a remote lake in a land known for tigers, pandas, snow leopards and ancient traditions.
A new group of castaways will battle each other, and the elements to Outwit, Outplay, Outlast.
I don’t necessarily think that “Survivor China” is going to show that much Chinese culture, or scenery for that matter, but it is kinda exciting for me that this is being filmed inside China!
